Hello all. Really new to this whole thing so looking for some help. I run an outfitting camp in northern Saskatchewan. We have a river with rapids that we’d like to be able to get up and explore. I have a 16 foot Lund boat and am looking at a mercury 25 horse outboard jet. Just wondering if it will work weight wise (190lbs advertised weight). Or this just going to be a bust?
Thanks in advance

16' Lund boats in the most basic form, like the S16 and C16 were rated for 35-40hp. A jet version will lose quite a bit of that power over it's prop version. So running a 25 will move it around, but it would not be the most efficient option.

My guess is you will want to max out the Hp if at all possible, especially with a jet lower unit.
