Just wanted to say hello!

We purchase our 242LS new in 2010 when we lived in Seattle. We moved to to Florida in 2015 and LOVE it here! I've been a member of another jet boat forum since 2010 but decided it was time for something new. :)

This seems like a great bunch of people with a lot going on - I'm looking feared to learning, meeting & boating!

Cheers,
-Eric

Welcome Eric! I assume the prior forum you refer to was Yamahajetboaters.com? If so, many of us were regulars there (long story)! Then we decided to create a new home with the members as our primary focus, with new tech and so far its been working well!

I was mitchelled on Yamahajetboaters....

Glad you found us
Be sure to check out the faq for lots of great tips

Awesome, another Florida member! Welcome to the best forum on the planet!

Thanks all! As I mentioned, we moved here a in 2015, so I'm still learning the area, but also looking forward to checking out the Keys, Gulf Coast, etc! The Bahamas trip you guys do sounds great, and the write-up "Preparing for Bimini" I'm absolutely amazing!

Julian – As you guessed! Looking forward to the re-focused group :)

Curious, where do ya'll get service in the Jacksonville area?

I go to purcels in orange park. They are fair. And will treat you right. They explained how to do my 50 hr service instead of charging me an hour for labor. The won me over.

'Sup! I'm also in St. Johns, although I usually end up putting in on the intracoastal... I just prefer it over the river. Welcome aboard!

Hey guys new member here from Orlando. Looking at buying my first jet boat and saw a picture above of someones in the ocean? Do most of you guys in Florida go salt with these boats? Not sure why but I figured the ocean wasn't the right place for these boats. I plan on lake riding but would be a super big plus if we could get out on the ocean. Thanks!

Ocean is rare for me... the jetboats are small and get tossed around a lot. I won't go out in conditions enough to worry me, but it's just not fun being bounced around or smacking swells constantly. However, I'm in the intracoastal (salt) all the time. Just rinse everything down real good when done and flush the engines and exhaust thoroughly when cleaning and it'll be fine.

I'm on the Gulf of Mexico side and go into the Gulf just about every time we go out. I know my limits though.
