Custom Trailer Cover
Scarab Graphic Marine Mat

I am hoping to be active on this forum and answer any questions people may have. I also will probably be asking a lot of questions as this is our first jet boat.

Welcome to the forum....and post pics!!!!

Welcome Aboard and Congrats!

The additional length of the Scarab 255 is very appealing to me. I am hopeful that they have worked out the bugs and you receive a perfect boat. Please give her a good inspection including time on the water before accepting delivery and let us know how she works out.

@Scottdip Welcome and congrats! Those 255s are crazy nice boats. Much much deeper than Chaparrals, ton of space, and super clever head entry design where you do not need to squat to get in.
There has never been a better time to buy a Scarab. STL boat show price $54,000 for 255 Platinum SE - that is NUTS!
In fact , they are actually taking a loss on that one.

@Bruce I always wonder what your next boat is going to be. I just feel that for the explorers such as yourself a deck scuper/self bailing system is really a must. It is for me.

Do the Scarabs lack a scupper or other self bailing system?

We are about 12 years away from a 40 foot plus sailing catamaran of uncertain manufacture. Currently a Leopard 45 seems about right but older and larger vs newer and smaller will be a tradeoff. I could see going up in size as we plan to spend many years living aboard. It is doubtful that we will stick with the same Yamaha for 12 years so I expect there will be at least one upgrade in that time. That upgrade will likely be determined by the kids interests. Oh and there is a an old monohull sailboat on Lake Ouachita planned somewhere in the next five years.

Welcome and I can't wait to see pictures. I went to the Baltimore MD boat show this weekend and they only had 1 non-jet Scarab on display. It was very disappointing.

Not sure about the 255. The 215 is close to my Sea Doo Challenger 210, cockpit deck drains to the bilge. I'm looking into changing that.

Yes, unfortunately. Which is okay, and similar to most all runabouts and wake/ski boats.
Just not great if you plan on seafaring, to say the least.

That is going to be impossible in a 255 Scarab, as those have a nice deep interior (and a low floor/deck). One can definitely live with it though for most uses.

Welcome to the family!

Boat is in, we pick it up this Friday at 1!!

I'm glad somebody in this thread suggested doing a sea trial. The dealership originally wanted to only give us a "land presentation", but I pushed for a sea trial and they obliged.

Hope to be cruising around Lake Geneva this weekend if the weather holds up!
