Got together today to help out a new member mlotero78. Here are some quick videos from today showing him around. Left at 7am to 11am. Went as far south to Stiltsville ocean side from Government cut and around back through IC to Haulover and back to 79th st ramp
Going to go out again next week so stayed tuned.

Hopefully someone can be on the lookout on Boatzone.com for us. I was driving circles in Haulover inlet hoping to be on camera again
Boat is a SX190 white top/black bottom.

I can say the new 1.9 runs smooth vs the 1.8

Enjoy

Great videos. Sure appears that you are enjoying the SX190. Similar to what I will be getting, in the Spring. Your videos just make me anxious, even now.
Do you have any steering accessories, or are you happy with the handling?

Hi

You'll have to pm @mlotero78 as he's the owner.

Compared to my 14 SX190 it's much better. It has a skeg type rudder at the bottom I feel made the improvement. The low speed steering wasn't bad either with throttle control. I would say try it before deciding for yourself.

I had the Cobra which made major improvement. I preferred the aluminum version vs JBP

Appreciate the advice. As others have said; try it first. The Marina showed me how they use the "speed control button (no wake) to move while using the shifter between forward, neutral and reverse. He told me that it is not a transmission; just a cable controlled gate, so there is nothing to damage, like a sterndrive.
I like the Cobra, as well. Prefer the aluminum to the plastic Vector. I am sure that both are very good. I am going to wait, until I have the boat, in the water, for a few hours, to play around with it. The price for the Cobra seems reasonable, and I could install it myself. Spring can't come fast enough, now that I know that the boat is mine.
Any other thoughts, let me know.

If your going to be in salt, make sure to flush engine with some dishwashing soap.
Spray silicone spary and grease everything regularly

Change oil and spark plugs every 50hours.

Enjoy it......

Thank you for the advice. Fresh water only. I am in Ontario Canada. Unfortunately, our boating season are short; maybe June until mid to the end of October. I am lucky; the boat is kept on a lift, and the lake stays deep enough for me, until, usually the end of October, when I had the sterndrive. The SX190 drafts less. Just depends on the temperature, as well.
Can't wait for next season, to put some hours on it. I can just picture it: in the middle of the bay, practicing the handling and manoeuvres.

Here it is ... 2024 with only 9 hours. There is a Yamaha trailer to go under it, not the one in the picture.
Has the new 1.9 motor, and everyone knows what Yamaha quality is like!

Make sure to get it properly winterized if it gets to freezing.
Hate to start season off with a problem.

Keep battery on a tender in your garage. Don't leave it on the boat

yip, exactly same boat. Hopefully the 24 have a build quality.

Good advice. The dealer is winterizing, shrink wrapping AND doing the first oil and filter change, because the break in hours are done. All included with the price. I feel confident with this dealer. They have been pretty straight up with me. Wouldn't even complete the deal until AFTER they had taken me out for a ride, because I had not been in a jet powered boat before.
Seemed to me to very open and honest.

Be sure to read the manual about the TDE position of the throttle and the three step no wake mode. With the throttle in the TDE position, first detent forward from neutral, and no wake at level 3 you will have brisk directional control, even at no wake level 2 the directional control will have authority.

The TDE position, Thrust Directional Enhancer, and updated jet nozzle was designed by Yamaha to increase low speed / thrust control of the boat. Go out and practice practice practice with the oem system, nothing will replace practice.

Appreciate all of the advice. Next summer cannot get here fast enough!
Merry Christmas to all of the readers!
