Hello everyone!
I've been using this forum for quite a while to learn about jetboats and decided to join. Currently I have a 2012 Seadoo Speedster 150 that my wife and I picked up in May from Riva down in Miami. We bought it as a our first boat instead of buying a pair of skis. So far it's been a great time, but we're already looking to take the next step into a bigger and more comfortable boat.
We have a deposit on a 2015 Yamaha AR240 with around 65 hours on it. The deal is 99% done, just waiting for the wife to get back from out of town so she can see it in person. Trading in our little 15 footer is part of the deal so we're still trying to determine if its the right move based on TCO, useage, etc.
All in all we're excited about the possibility of owing a bigger boat, that's more "practical" for us. I'm already looking at doing some upgrades if I can find any solid Black Friday deals...Seadek or equivalent, Cobra fins or Thrust Vectors, boat cover, and more than likely down the road, stereo system upgrade and one of the throttle/rev matching options out there, if its really worth it. We don't ski or wake board really although on a rare occasion, we may have friends who come with that would. This is going to be more of a sight-seeing, sand bar hanging out, going to lunch on the water cruising type boat for us.
We'd like to make the trip to the Bahamas/Binimi and other cool places you could get to on this boat with proper time and resources.
Otherwise, I've met some really nice/cool people at the local docks and even in Key Largo, and on the water at the sand bars. Hoping to get out more often regardless if we buy the AR240 or keep the Speedster.
