Hi guys I'm new to the boating world first boat ever, just wondering are the yamaha jet boats hard to drive bit nervous about it

Hard to drive? No but they do take some practice. If you've driven a PWC before you should be able to understand how they don't go where you want them to without using thrust. The same pretty much applies to the boats only the boats are slower to respond because they're much larger and heavier than a PWC. Go out on a non-busy day like in the middle of the week and practice, practice and practice some more. Plenty of advice on here and YouTube videos.

@haknslash has good advice. He also has an articulating keel. Take it out like he says. If you feel uncomfortable invest in some fins ( take your choice between the two excellent products...I have the JBP ones). Give it a little time regardless and don’t be afraid of thrust when getting away from stuff. This ain’t no stern drive!
