We just picked up our new 2019 sx195 yesterday, and upon getting it home, noticed the painted trailer has a bunch of rust already. Parts of the winch assembly are rusting and there is rust in and around the holes of the swingaway tongue. Is this common this early in the life of these trailers? Any insight is appreciated.

If it's a 2019 it's probably been sitting for over a year. I would contact your dealer or Shorelander for any warranty questions.

We bought it last September and had it stored inside for the winter. Didn't take delivery til this week.

Unfortunately these are cheaply manufactured trailers. The paint is sub-par, especially around edges. It’s likely something that just has to be dealt with, and my guess is Shoreland’r won’t warranty surface rust.

You can probably hit Home Depot and pick up some Rustoleum or similar rust inhibiting black paint to touch up those areas.
