Hi all, purchased a 2015 SX192 this fall and have been cleaning things up, changing oil, filter, air filter, greasing, ripped apart the wear ring/impeller which was in terrible shape. Have been waiting for the impeller since NOVEMBER. Until then i bought a Garmin Striker 4 plus and am wondering what people are doing with the transducer. I hate to drill hull if i don't need to but seems the only option? My last I/O had an inboard transducer in the bilge area that i loved (no holes..). I also want to change the trailer jack that looks like it's about to collapse, but my trailer (shor'lander Galv) has the side plates and the tongue is solid top/bottom, the lag bolts go right into the sides from the swing jack so how in the world do you access the nuts on the inside?? Never had a Jetboat and can't wait to get it into the water. I have a 2021 version of the thrust vector waiting to go on once i finally get the impeller. Steering is now nice and loose from running oil down it, need to do the throttle next. Boat has 260hrs, which seems like a bit here in NY, but down south where it's from i'm sure that's not too high. Been trying to educate myself on all the controls this winter so i can pick it up quicker once on the water. Clean out plug seems to work in/out well, hull is in good shape. I have a couple fenders but am trying to figure out proper placement on this unique hull shape. I have a couple tiny loops just forward of the side windshields that seem to be in the right place. Lots of good info on here, will keep reading.

Assuming you have 3 tie down cleats, I put my tie off ropes on the front and back ones, a fender on the middle one, one on the wake tower or maybe in your case the back pole of a bimini, and the 3rd is on a suction cup by "airhead" I purchased from Amazon and installed on the flat fiberglass just in front of the windshield. That works well for me.

I'm using the Striker 4 on my 2012 SX190, and put the transducer in the bilge area. I didn't want to drill any holes. I can't remember exactly where I placed, but it works great. Just had to find a spot with single wall fiberglass. I think it's near the speed sensor if I recall. I expect to pull the cover off this weekend finally, so I can confirm then.

Just remembered I had a photo in my phone from when I did it. I did place it next to the speed sensor.

That's great, thank you. good to hear. looks like you just used some clear silicone to stick it into place? would LOVE to avoid holes/cabling out the boat.

I used a 2 part epoxy. Seems to be what most people use to mount them. I had an old boat years ago with a thru-hull transducer and that's what it came with to mount it too.

I just did the same install with a Garmin Striker. In hull same place, used plumbers putty to build a pool for the epoxy.

Haven’t got the boat in yet to test it, but soon. Rest of the install was pretty easy. Transducer cable run is easiest with a wire snake. I pulled power for the sonar right at the dash, there was a spare connection not used but I have a 190, I think it was there for the depth finder on the 192. They capped the wires so it was super easy.

I have the Garmin 44CV and an SX190. I mounted that monster transducer to my ride plate and ran the wires up through the gravity deck drain and up to the dash. No holes in the boat.

We probably have the same trailer too and it will take a generic jack. Prop up the tongue, loosen those 3 or 4 bolts on the winch frame, slide the winch forward and off, re-use the hardware that you find on the existing and transfer it to the new. You will probably have left over parts from the replacement jack that you can toss. Tip: Scribe the location of the winch on the frame so you know where to put it back to.

Budget an hour or two. I think I did a video on it too.

Thanks all, i pulled the access plate in the stern and now have a good view, will mount mine in the same spot. HawaiiBreeze, thanks for the pics. i noticed after i posted that i can see the nuts on the inside of the raised round area now, i wondered how the heck i'd access them before. my stock swivel jack scares the crap out of me, it's on an angle for some reason and doesn't sit straight up anymore. Have a new 1500lb unit to mount.
Got an email today from Partzilla pushing my date a 4th time to 6/10 for my impeller, i almost threw up..

How about refurbishing your original impeller? I never used them, but Impros has service prices on their site. Maybe they have a fast turn around.

Kawi you are welcome. After the 2nd replacement unit I decided to to perform surgery on it to find out why they dont last and I've got a vid in the works that I'll be posting to the YT Channel. IMHO the manufacturers set up these jacks to fail.

I just realized who you are on Ytube, I've watched your videos. good info/ideas, and sound recommendations.
Just thought of one of your videos as i was checking over all my hose clamps/connections today. Swapped out my jack today for a 1,200lb unit from Overton's. I just abandoned the mounting point where the OEM one was on the side of the winch housing, and i just had enough room between the housing, and the folding tongue portion. Much smoother operation. Noticed the OEM unit locking hole for the pin was very ovaled out, and left slack, which i assume was letting the jack tilt enough to not make me feel too safe about it. If my long awaited impeller ever comes i'd love to get this thing out on the water..

You've hit a nail on the head about ovaling out the OEM hole for the pin. The past jack (my 2nd replacement) was a bit loose but the latest jack (3rd replacement) has a pin that was larger than the earlier one so I have a snugger fit than before. Glad you were able to get enough real estate on the tongue to get it fixed there, not sure I have that room unless I move the winch bracket rearward a inch or more.

Thanks for the comment on the Vids too. By the way are you changing out the prop due to damage or altering performance?

My original impeller was hammered, even as a newbie i knew it was wrecked. the housing/wear ring had a few 1/16" holes burned through from cavitation. I have my wear ring, and while i have been waiting forever for the OEM impeller, i luckily sent my OEM to impros back at the end of April. It just shipped out so hopefully this weekend i'll have things put together and be able to test it out in the balmy 65 deg NY weather.
