New Thrust Vector!

Interesting. As a BRP/Scarab owner, I've never felt a need to have something like this, but maybe one day I'll get to try it out and see what kind of difference there is. Hard to justify spending money for myself since I don't have a need for it...

I'm glad to see the bumper vs bucket possible contact is gone. It would be awesome to get a few comparison videos of how a boat handles with and without the Thrust Vector. Both brands at different speeds.

What about the spray knockdown of the TV-W. The new one won't have that. We love that feature when tubing

I just called to order the Jet-Wash deflector.

It doesn’t appear to have this feature anymore for tubing spray. In fact, it seems like the whole point is to avoid contact with the jet thrust. We really enjoy this on the TVW.

I’m also confused by his mention that it will provide a clean wake for surfing. Maybe I misunderstood him, but if the product is totally separated from the jet thrust now then I don’t see how it could have any effect.

I saw that the jet wash defector is now available as a standalone purchase, but I had though that was only good for the 24’ boats.

@JetBoatPilot
Will, is the jetwash deflector on your site? I just looked but may have missed it.

@JetBoatPilot
Will, can you please explain if this new Thrust Vector will offer any of the “extra” benefits of the previous TVW product? Specifically interested in things beyond steering improvement, like the jet spray knockdown for tubing and cleaning up the wave for surfing.

Since this new one avoids contact the jet thrust altogether, it seems like it could not do these things. I’m still enjoying my TVW product but always keen to see new your improvements.

There won't be any extra benefits from a performance standpoint. The wake system required the user to fine tune the stops to clean up the jet wash. The new system simply does not need adjustment so its easier for anyone to install and get it right.

As for the tubing spray we've analyzed both products and their impact on jet wash. Our testing shows similar results for both products.

To be clear not everyone who installed TVW reported that their tubing ride was cleaned up. Many did. Many did not. So we really pulled back from pushing that benefit.

We feel like customers who have Thrust Vector Wake will have no reason to replace their fins with the new system as there will be no added benefits.

If there's any one advantage that I have noted, beyond the simplicity of the installation, its that the steering feels lighter than the wake. That would be the only scenario (based on what we know currently) where I'd suggest someone convert from Wake to the new system.

@JetBoatPilot are the fins the same size as the TVW or TVXV?

Would us with these older models of TV be able to just order the "ski" or center portion of this new system and install it on the older fins? With different mounting holes a template could be added with the ski portion for an upgrade to the existing TV on our boats.

After filtering the marketing speak. This does not improve or effect the wake compared to a stock boat. It does improve the wake compared to the TVX product which created a spray into a surfer. Any positive impact of the TVW on the wake is gone.

So compared to the Cobra product the wake should be the same, but the Cobras stays in the water at speed while the TVs lift out. People can debate the desirability of the two. Additionally, the fins look bigger and hang lower than the Cobra's so they might provide better low speed steering, but could cause obstructions in water or while towing and the TVs appear to block the sideways reverse flow on 2019+ boats more than the Cobra Ultimates. Does that seem like a fair assessment?

I'm agreeing with this. And it almost seems to point out, that the moving style TV fins through multiple versions, may have caused more spray than having no fins at all, or the cobrajet fins that are fixed. So the TV-Wake was actually trying to eliminate the very spray they were creating. if the fins had been fixed in the first place, it may not have needed to "clean up the wake"

I have noted some extra fine spray when heavily listed to one side while surfing too. Almost to the point of not listing the boat as much. We have figured out what it takes to make a clean wave, so this will be good for those moving forward.

For those thinking about the jetwash deflector, I can attest that the new black deflector for the 24' boats does clean up the wave. I can share some video comparison if anyone wants to see what I found. I'm not sure if the black one will go out to anyone, or just the 24' boat owners as it was designed for.

Looks like the new design would alleviate concerns with excess pressure when used in conjunction with the L13 cones.

The L13 issue is why I ended up selling my TVW. Didn’t want to chance it.

Can you explain why some are not using the Lucky 13 cones and the TVW? I just missed the post somewhere and am not aware of an issue.

The added thrust from the L13 cone applied too much force onto the TVW parts causing some bolts to bend.
