Greetings fellow shallow water navigators. I hail from Nashville TN. Grew up on water, put 1200 miles on my Baja last summer. Was planning a trip to the Bahamas in our go fast and came across Broncos gurus’ YouTube channel. Wound up binge watching his last two years probably of content while traveling for work and here I am a year later with a new 242x we bought Friday afternoon lol. It’s certainly different, but we love it so far, put 7 hours and a lot of beer on it Sat so I believe we will keep it. Looking forward to surfing and wakeboarding behind it with my 4year old son. For now I’m leaving the boat stock minus maybe a wake booster and some better impellers. *cheers*
P.S. this is the first time I’ve joined a forum in ~20years. So if we aren’t doing the newbie thread thing these days just delete this.

Beautiful boat, congratulations! This forum is the absolute BEST resource for your your boat. It's a great community as well and really will enhance your pride in ownership.

Send me a message if you're interested in a recommendation and member discount on a board. We carry all the Slingshot boards, including the Coaster Yamaha sells with the WakeBooster (minus the Yamaha branding).

Congrats and welcome!! Those have to be some of the nicest looking boats on the water that’s for sure! Drain Plug Mafia!!

There are going to be times when you miss the sound of that Baja. Yamaha jet boats are so much more functional though. I myself, looked really heavy at a couple of Fountains before I bought my third Yamaha. We just could not get over how family-friendly and practical the jet boats are for what we do. Welcome to the family.

LOL I saw this on Facebook yesterday Yamaha might need to start cutting me checks lol! I hope you enjoy it @CalebEnright
Lol, they really should. My buddy is looking to buy one as well for the same reason. Nice to meet you, definitely want to join you guys on some Bimini runs!

Welcome @CalebEnright
Did you drive to Chicago just to buy your boat?
Yes, everyone was sold out due to Covid. I called all the major dealers and asked to be called if they got one in. Nielsen was the first to call so we drove up.

@robert843, it was you and your buddies that inspired me!

Well you will get to meet @1948Isaac which is who made the video you probably saw that helped motivate you to do the Bahamas runs thats who I'm going with this year again he is crossing to Bimini this morning and I'm meeting him there Saturday

Hopefully we get to plan a group trip next year to Bimini. I’m actually leaving Saturday for a week in Exuma in the Bahamas hopefully I will get some video out of the trip next week.

I figured he was going when you said buddy with center console when we started talking.

I just picked up my new 242x this weekend. I came for the Baja crowd also. Looking forward to getting some time on the new ride!
