Grabbed a gently used 20 hr cream puff with a 3 yr factory warranty, new Yamaha cover and a used single ski trailer with sliders for just under 8K +ttl. It's our first jet ski so didn't want to go crazy expensive or too powerful...yet. It's a base VX so had to have a reboarding ladder installed for the kiddos. We put about 6 hrs on it last weekend. Ran great and was a ton of fun. Didn't even go thru a full tank of fuel and I was testing its speedometer limits.
The jet ski thing is definitely more up my alley on the lake and since we don't do salt water with our toys I can see a bigger, faster one in my future. Our 12 y/o loves the VX 1100 so I'm guessing next year I'll be looking for a deal on the 1.8 HO version for myself
Oh and if anyone is looking at skis, I'd recommend the Yamahas over any other make hands down. At least the versions with the RIDE Control system. It is phenomenal.
