Well, been looking and finally did it. Wanted a blue (like our Yammie) Ford Raptor to replace the tired Tahoe. Started out looking at the used 2012 or newer. But even with 15-24k miles they are within 5-10k of a new one! Then I learned that they aren't going to make a 2015 model and demand for the 14s is high, driving the cost of the used ones up. Many dealers are marking the new ones up 5-10k over list, something they call a 'market adjustment' or something like that. I also learned that they are #1 in resale in the US. So I found a dealer that not only had the blue I wanted but would sell it for MSRP. They were 650miles away, but agreed to meet me 1/2 way in Memphis.

These things are a beast! Built by the Ford Special Vehicle Team (SVT), they have a 6.2L motor(411hp/430Tq), 7" wider stance than stock, locking rear, posi front, Fox racing suspension with 12" of travel, rear and FRONT camera and factory 35" rubber. Inside she is loaded with hot/cold bucket seats, nav, leather, etc, etc, etc.. Handles like a dream and power to spare. The only thin it doesn't do well is pass a gas station! But as the 'Dawg' recently said, the luxury is worth it...

That right there is BAAAAAD ASS. Congrats on the new rig!

4 Door = Super Crew

@Bruce - Not even YOU can be expected to know EVERYTHING. . . .

Yeah, the 4 doors was by request of the better half. Amazing how much room is in the back seat. And the seats fold completely flat up against the rear of the cab. So lots of room for packing when it's just the 2 of us.

Smart Woman. . . . . 4 Doors is a MUST in a pickup. It's the ONLY way I would order one.

Awesome truck! Congrats. They are a beast. I see lots of them daily in the Dallas area. Very popular truck around here.

Sweet truck!!
I'm still hoping they bring back the full size Bronco

Awesome truck!
Thats more like it guys, you leave those smelly diesels to big rigs and steam cleaners…..

It's my dream truck! Color and everything!
Heard they are dropping that 6.2 in favor of the 5.0 though, so I dunno how that will pan out with the SVT team.
Towing is somewhat limited due to the different off road suspension. Plenty for the boat, but if you were maxing out the towing, you would need to replace a thing or two or so i've been told. Awesome truck man!

Our boat is all we'd ever tow and it will be plenty for that. Certainly better than what we were using.

I always liked the Bronco too. I especially remember the 1st gen Bronco. I grew up in Alaska in the 60s-70s and remember they did very well in the snow.

When I was calling around trying to find one, I called a dealer in DFW area. He told me he had 6 and that the Raptors were popular in his area. He told me that all his were marked 6k over list and he had no problem getting it.

DSC_0221.jpg A fellow Raptor owner.. I have a 14 Screw in Terrain.
She does not only look great towing toys.. She herself is a toy.. This is a pic of mine getting some air..

Never been a Ford guy but I could see myself with one of those. Fantastic lookin truck.

I squashed the idea of getting a Tahoe, debating on the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Edition.........
