Off Season Maintenance - Pulling Pumps - Thoughts?

Today I decided to pull the pumps on my 2012 SX210. Initially I though I would be replacing the wear rings (parts in hand), but from initial inspection (thus far only have pulled the starboard side), I think the wear ring in rather great shape (pictures below). What did surprise me was the pitting on the impeller - seems pretty consistent on each blade, on the leading edge, in the center of each blade the metal is rather course, and to me seems to be tied to cavitation (from what I have read).

I am attaching some photos for feedback as to what I should be looking for (the tunnel seems rather smooth, the vast majority of silicone is still in tact), or if this is just attributed to normal usage over ~10 seasons. As far as I am aware, all parts are original; use is mixed salt/fresh water.

Before I move onto the port side, I was going to check the cone.

The starboard cone looked good (in my opinion). A few drops of moisture. Installed a new O-Ring, and put some Yamaha Marine Grease on the bearings per the service manual.

Pulled the port side - looks like the wear ring is in good shape. Impeller has similar pitting, maybe a little less pronounced. There were some drops of moisture on the splines of the shaft.

Does anyone know if the impellers are the same for port and starboard on the 2012 SX210? When I look up the part on Partzilla, the schematics only show a single part #, and in the description it reads “UR STBD”, and the depicted label only shows “STBD”

You may want to inspect the lube inside the intermediate bearing housings also. You can add gear lube to your pump and if the intermediate bearing is wet inside you need to replace it do a search on why I say not to grease the intermediate bearing and why I add gear lube to the existing grease in the pump and the intermediate bearings I actually do that when they are new before they ever hit the water. I believe the spots are melted metal spots caused by cavitation That is pretty normal though I know under water ????? but just do a search on that also. And if you are in salt water add a zinc anode to the pumps , the original ones are magnesium. you can leave those on as well also they staggered the pitch on the impellers because of how the pumps load differently being on different sides of the hull.
 
I would change the seals on the front of the pump if water is getting in the bearings even just a little.
 
If that is 10 seasons those all look great. Your port impeller has some edge damage....but not terrible.
 
Ok, so I’m confused with determining if the impellers are the same or different. (I put things back together and took the boat back to storage, figuring I would have to order and wait on impellers).

I have photos of both impellers having the same “6S810” (two different photos, not side by side). The owners manual only list one impeller pitch (22.9), but the service manual indicates two different pitches…
And lastly, when I look back at Partzilla - there are two different part numbers..

I’m thinking I need 2 6S8-R1321-10-00, with the prefix “6S8” and the suffix of “10” making up what I see stamped on both impellers…

When replacing the impellers, are there any other parts/gaskets that need to be replaced?

My impellers and all should look so good!

As to the different impellers... I seem to recall discussion on here about those and similar confusions. But I don't know where. @swatski , was that part of your research?
