Have a pneumatic liquid extractor I bought off Amazon. Ran engine about 10-15 min. Got it level. Ran the extraction pump for about 30 min moving the hose around. Only got about 2.5 L of oil out. Seems like not that much. What am I doing wrong? Gave up tonight as it got dark and was going to try and get more out tomorrow. Have a 195s.

I get the engine tilted slightly forward to the right , I use an electric fuel pump from an older jeep with fuel injection I open the oil cap and I place the tube down the dip stick hole and move it slowly up and down , the tubes I use are clear and I can hear and see the oil being extracted it usually takes me 15 minutes to get 4 quarts out, I am not familiar with your extractor I have been using this electric fuel pump for 20 years works great.

I put mine on a slight downslope on my driveway so the oil would go more towards the front where the dipstick hole is. Also make sure you are using the widest hose that will fit down in the hole, took me about 10-15 min with a pneumatic pump to get around 4qts out

Thx. Since I got out 2.5 L today you think I should start it tomorrow or too risky with that much oil gone to warm it again?

I never run the engine so you can get the oil out cold I have been doing it that way for a long time

I had the same challenge with my 2020 AR210. There are 3 spots you can stick the oil extractor hose, through the dipstick hole, through the top of the engine where they have another spot that you can unscrew to put oil in, and finally from where the oil filter is. I had to alternate between all 3 spots at times, it seemed like it took me forever to get all the oil out but eventually I got all 4 qts. Sometimes I’d move the hose around in the dipstick hole and it would get in further and all the sudden I’d start pulling out more oil again. You can watch my oil change video to see what I’m talking about. Just stick with it, you’ll get that oil!

It is a TR-1 though, 190s are 1.8, only dipstick hole to suck oil out of.

DUH...! Perhaps that has something to do with FLORIDA ? lol
It's 30 degs here today. At those temps, without prewarming, you can suck on that oil all day long before you get a quart out, lol.

I have a 2020 AR190 and I just changed my oil for the first time. I ran the (Aleko 12V DC Motor Fuel Oil Diesel Pump), as recommended by other members, and got 3.75L out. I used the dip stick hole only. I did run the engine for about 10min to warm up the oil and ensured it was level before I started. All 3.75L pumped out in about 5min and I did not need to do much fishing around with the tube, just a couple of small adjustments.

Also, it took all 4 quarts of new oil to bring the dip stick level back to what it was before draining.

@Bjames21 Where is the oil on the dipstick warm now? Optimally it should be half or just below half warm and level to maximize engine RPM's. Lots of threads on here regarding that.

You can browse this thread where I do real world testing with oil level with others.

Good question, I only checked cold. But I do know that when cold the oil level on the stick is the same as it was before and now after the oil change.

@Bjames21 I guess my point is, is that just because you had oil in the engine before doesn't mean it was at the optimum level. A full 4 quarts sound like about .5 quarts too much. Dealers and from factory have delivered boats with more oil than needed before which lessen's performance in these engines. Also if there is too much it will get into your air filter. Don't assume what you took out is what needs to go back in. Best to put a bit less in and then warm the engine and then check it level and bring it up to halfway or a bit less.

Up to almost 3 L but that’s about all I can get out of there tilting things etc. guess I’ll go with that this time around.

My guess is the rest is still somewhere in the engine or the oil filter.

I got just over 3 quarts out, like 3.25 on one on slightly under that on the other on the last oil change. Although as I am reading this, some are talking quarts and some are talking liters.

@Wright2e I wouldn't sweat it. But put a bit less in, warm the engine then add to bring it up to optimum level. I put in 3 quarts and then warmed the engines and added some more till it was at the level I wanted, mid way between L and Half.

I did. It took all 4 quarts when all said and done to get to the right level and had it all level etc. Now on to fogging. Would you recommend I wait and change spark plugs in spring or before next use? I heard the fogging oil fouls them.

Are you using the boat over the winter or are you winterizing? I took my plugs out and sprayed fogging oil in each cylinder, put the spark plugs back in and gave it a few seconds of crank with the lanyard pulled on each engine. I will run the engine once with the plugs in, in the spring to burn off the fogging, then I will change the plugs for the season to get a fresh start for boating.

Also fill your tank up with gas and also Stabil, in the correct dosage, if it is going to sit a while. Pull your Plug too out of the clean out port. Open your hull drains and should be good to go. If you are going to cover throw a bucket or two of damp rid in, one in cockpit one in bow to suck up some moisture.

Thx! So then it sounds like just do the plugs in the spring then but fog now. Appreciate it!
