Getting ready to change the oil on my 2012 SX190. Previously have always used Yamaha Oil filter part number 69J-13440-01. Ordered the same part number on Amazon.com. I received Yamaha Oil filter part number 69J-13440-03. The Seller on Amazon said it is the same oil filter and the 69J-13440-01 filter has been superseded by the 69J-13440-03 oil filter pert number.

Looking on the side of each oil filter box, both boxes list the same "water vehicle"s "FX1800 '08- FY1800 '09- GX1800 '09- SXT1800 '09- VX1800 '11- etc.

Question is is the part number ending in -03 the same filer as the previous one ending on -01? Can I use the -03 oil filter or not?

Thanks

You can absolutely use the one you received.
This has been covered here somewhere if you look hard you may be able to find it If I remember correctly, Yamaha filters for 1.8l engines changed a bit recently - used to be manufactured in Japan, the one you have is probably from Thailand. The filtering medium inside has changed, too, probably not for the better, but they all work perfectly well.
