In with the new. . . . 20150809_121508.jpg 20150809_121540.jpg

Just traded in my 2005 Expedition and bought a 2015 Expedition EL Limited.

I was referring to the forum sticker. Lol

LMFAO, I thought you were talking about the Dealer Invoice Sticker. . . . . . I left it on. . . . More advertising.

I have a replacement for the US Flag, USMC, and JB.Net stickers. = )

Only one you don't see in the photo is my USMC Sticker, which is the only one I removed. Gotta EARN that one.

Congrats on the new ride Leatherneck. I have an 08' Expedition EL Limited and while it still looks like new, it has been far from reliable. I wish you much better luck with yours. I am anxious to hear how it pulls with the Ecoboost. Because of its size, people assume that my 08' pulls well, but truth is that it is a bit of a dog. I have to imagine the Ecoboost pulls great like the similarly equipped F150's. Best of luck with it.

Sorry to hear of your issues. . . . I had significant challenges with Jeep. Seems there are issues with EVERYTHING. I chose FORD, for Size, Price, tow capacity, and the fact that the didn't take a bail out.
The discount I got through their partner program didn't hurt either. . . . ;)

If I have any issues, you can be damn sure I will put em on blast right here in this thread. Obviously I am hoping that won't be necessary :D

Congratulations on the new truck! Happy and safe motoring!

It's a beauty! Congratulations:winkingthumbsup"

Sorry to hear of your issues.

Thanks. The only saving grace for me is that one of my best childhood friends is the head mechanic at the local FOrd Dealership and he has done a great deal of the repair work on the side and gotten my parts at his cost. He has also indicated that while the vehicle has some real common issues (power windows, air suspension compressor, power running boards, etc.), that the number of issues I have is not normal to what they have seen. I still love the look and function of the vehicle and most people think it is new when they see it. I have a 117k miles now and would like to take it to at least 150k if possible. It is used as a second vehicle now and we only put about 8-10k miles per year on it. Hopefully I can get on a stretch where it doesn't require much work.

I agree with you that it is the best vehicle of its type for the buck right now. The Suburban/Yukon XL/Escalade are all considerably more expensive when comparably equipped. I like the new redesign of those vehicles but $70k for a Suburban LTZ, $80k for a Yukon XL Denali and $90k for a Escalade ESV are all excessive IMO. My plan is to purchase a used one in a few years or possibly go with a newer Expedition EL or Navigator L with the Ecoboost. Looking forward to your report on how it tows.

Very interested to hear your perspective on the Expedition, 0627Devildog. My 2000 Expedition is still going strong but that big torque motor has me dreaming. Waterboy has one and he is reporting 11 mpg towing. That sure beats my 9 mpg. Please keep us in the loop.

500 miles in. . . . And we LOVE it so far. Have yet to tow though so I will be sure to keep you posted.

We had a 2000 and a 2005 which served us well, into the 100k mile range. Hoping for the same/better results.

Brand new car. . . .so what, let the mods commence. 20150821_155726.jpg

Unfortunately, they don't make a front hitch for this. That is the old one from my 2005, which I can techincally refabricate to make it fit. But I didn't like the setup, it was slung a bit too low.

Stay tuned though, the alternative I came up with should be just as good. . . .
