Has anyone ever replaced the latch for their pass through window? It looks like it's held on by some type of rivet and that it's probably installed before the window is in the frame. if someone has done this what latch did you use and how did you do it?

Good question. I see a screw on the frame. Have you tried unscrewing that to see if it allows that frame piece to move? I would guess there's at least one other screw at the bottom.

Removing top screws allows window glass to come out..

The latches are listed as parts on Yamaha sports Plaza and are $25 for the pair so they are mentioned to be replaced. You will have to drill out the old rivit and relative rivit the new latch. As mentioned earlier the frame piece must come off by removing the screws.

What @Gym said. I have the same broken latch on mine. Can't justify paying $25 to replace it yet. Someday I'll cave. Someday.

Maybe @ripler and you @Bill D can buy the pair for $25, share the cost and each take one you need for your repair. If you do the fix a write up & pics would help us future broken latch kids.

3D print one?.. If you use OpenScad to make one, it can be sent to 3dHub for someone local to print it. I'd be happy to print it for you once is designed, but I'll need to ship it if you can't pick it up in Houston.

(I have MP Mini printer. sells for $200 and can print small things.) PLA material melts at too low a temperature, but PETG seems to hold well so far for other parts I have printed. Cost of materia is probably less than 50 cents to print one of these,

Something like this?

Material is $20-25 per kilogram... so 5 grams is 12 cents 10 grams 25 cents. material alone.

I have been a broken latch kid for years. I'll keep watching to see what you guys come up with.
