Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

I’ve Lived in Upper Michigan my whole life and never went on a Lake Superior cruise to see Pictured rocks Lakeshore from the lake. This past weekend the big lake had a Great looking boaters forecast so we took a ride with a couple other boats to see some amazing scenery and crystal clear turquoise waters. All about an hour from my house. Here are some pictures from our adventures.

You are correct on that. We are only an hour away and had been watching wind and weather apps very closely. It's this time of year (late summer) when you can hit those rare days on mother Superior. Just a couple weeks ago we trailered up there only to see white caps out on the lake when it was supposed to be decent, so we turned back. That is one lake I know not to mess with if she's rough. But this weekend was absolutely beautiful up there. We even had 71 degree water temps which is pretty rare for that lake. If you ever do want to go out there, this time of year definitely has some good weather for it. It would be cool to plan a JB gathering there.

Was there about a month ago, will definitely go back. Didn't have my boat but took one of the cruise boat trips. Lived on IL/WI line all my life but never made it to MI, usually go to the southwest or southeast, got to be one of the most beautiful states I've been in. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore was great also.

The Sleeping Bear Dunes are also pretty amazing. That is one heck of a climb if you go down and need to go back up. There are even signs about the cost of a rescue if you can't make it back up. But yeah the majority of Lake Superior shoreline has a lot of beauty.

I went backpacking with my brother there once, I think around 2008. That looks like the beach I hiked across that had a torrential sideways downpour. The only place I’ve expienced that. Beautiful place though. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome pictures! It looks like you had an amazing time. We went to pictured rocks last year with our old boat.
