Anybody have a nice or favorite place to stay in the Irvine/Costa Mesa/Huntington beach area?

I will be out for training in this area 07July--12July and would appreciate any help and opinions with this!

Thanks! =)

I stayed at the Irvine Marriott the last few times. Right by SNA and the 405 but quiet at night. Friendly staff, decent restaurant in the lobby and a Starbucks too.

Thanks guys! I do like Embassy Suites as well. Our primary hotel is already booked for the days I will be out there, so the breakfasts at Embassy are awesome! =)

And a scooter :D

Hell Yeah! Now you're talking. Scooters are the bomb!
Scooter = Chick Magnet! I already had several women ask if they could take it for a spin.

I've ordered two more for family - they want them specifically for the beach, I have to mount a surfboard rack on one of them.

But back to the house, I've rented in Huntington before and it's actually quite reasonable if you can find one this time of year. Sometimes there are cancellations they need to fill and you can get a deal.

Spent some time wandering around Carlsbad and Oceanside the last few days with The Girl (my old stomping grounds) Found a great little hotel and breakfast cafe in San Clemente, and poked around Newport (Holy Freakin' Wow!) a bit..... Company is trying to work me into the Holiday Inn now cause its so close, but I kinda like that beach house idea if it were not for the fact I would only be there to sleep =/....

I hope I didn't miss out on the opportunity to share our layover place...The Ayres is right there! And it is an awesome hotel with a great crew rate I am told. I don't actually know what it is, but I see crew that I know that are staying there on their own, so it must be pretty good. They offer their breakfast buffet too at 50% off! I think my breakfast the other day was $5.80. Based on availability, they will take you anywhere in a 5 mile radius, which will include the beaches you mentioned.

Thanks Mel! We always stayed at the Ayres too in SNA and we got the breakfast for free! =) I called and had the company call as well, but they have some sort of convention in town and do not have any rooms available on my dates! Dang it!

Never had a problem booking there a month + out before....The "word" is out!

Yeah, some of you guys get a better deal than us...don't let your company hear that we don't get it, or you may not either in the future!
