2014 195HO.... The plastic instrument cover has started to crack. Nothing has been done to cause this, there are about 3 spots where spider cracks are forming and spreading. Has anyone else experienced this?
When we called, we were told they do not make the plastic screen - we have to replace the entire panel at the cost of $2700.00.

Can we see some pictures? There is a lot of custom work that can be done for $2700 dollars, so if it's semi flat, a piece of plywood wrapped in Vinyl or an aluminum custom dash, or painted plexiglass may be way more cost effective. Best of Luck!

Some Auto Repair places also do custom dash repairs for used car dealers... maybe something of the sort?

Best of Luck!

I have encountered the exact same problem however my dealer did give me a new lens to replace the cracked one on our boat. I had about a dozen cracks running all throughout the gauge cluster. I thought it was going to be pretty straight forward, just remove the aluminum panel in the front, pop the gauge out and take the lens off. Boy was I wrong! The existing lens is glued completely to the cluster and took about 2 hours with a Dremel tool to remove all the glue so the new lens could sit flat. All and all you can get a replacement lens but just set a side some time to replace it.

Would you be willing to share your dealers name? We called ours as well as the manufacture and we were told we could not just buy the lens, it was all one unit.

The marina I deal with is Harper's Marine in Haliburton Ontario

Look up kr_powersports on Facebook. Ricardo does an awesome job repairing these. New lense, new black housing, and screen or needles if needed. He can plug in to test before shipping back to you and sends you a video of it. Around $300. Took care of my cracked lense on my 2017 scarab 195 open.

@Beachbummer you and I think a lot alike.

For $2700, you can buy a brand new whizbang 3D printer with every update and upgrade you could want, with matching filament, and a sheet of polycarbonate (for UV protection) to replace what might be going bad. No idea if that would work, as we're just spitballing, but @Bruce seems to be a genius when it comes to 3D printing stuff for the boat, and I'd bet this would be a reasonably easy fix for someone as talented as he is.

@Mdangell do you have access to the boat? It's tough to even tell you what needs to be replaced, or what might NOT have to be replaced, without seeing the problem at hand. If you don't have access to get some pics of your boat, maybe look around here and link or re-share someone else's dash with some edited pics giving us a better lay of what or where the problem lies. Android phones have decent editing and markup capabilities in the built-in app, and iPhones have similar capabilities, so downloading those pics and mocking up what the damage is, might just get you results that don't run you thousands of dollhairs.

Thread is 5 years old. Since it says the only option is $2700 replacement I was just posting a great $300 option for those that stumble across it like me and don’t love the idea of buying and reprogramming a new cluster. Easy to send in and get it repaired for 10% of new cost.

Makes no sense to invest in 3D printing along with the materials and trial & error when you can just pay a guy $300 to repair and test yours to look and function as good as new.
