Hey guys, just bought this 242X used. Cleaning it up for long-term storage today and found this plug sitting down near the bilge pump. Does anyone recognize it?

A scrap left over from the build process that the previous owner never found.

Doesn't look like anything Yamaha would have left behind....must be from the prior owner.

Looks like a bathtub plug. ...What were these previous owners doing in that engine bay???!!! :)

I have seen that someone else found one of those also a while ago. Might be a plug for a through hull hole when they spray the gelcoat. And it fell into the hull

My wife has been looking for that for weeks. She's said her bathwater doesn't stay in the tub anymore, but I just thought she was nuts.

GIMME THAT BACK!

LOL! Well, it's a genuine part, and those ain't cheap! I think list price is something around $700. Polypropylene is expensive after all.

Aren't those the removable plugs between the ski locker and the bilge that everyone throws away?

@biffdotorg you might be right. If I recall correctly, it was about the same size as the sidewall hole where the ballast hose comes through to the center ski locker. I'll try to check that out later today.
