So I got started replacing my intermediate bearing this weekend with a @ISLANDRACING bearing assembly. Turns out my 2011 AR240 Has a thrust washer behind the assembly that I needed to order.

So I decided to tackle the myriad of scratches on my boat. The prior owner insisted that he did not need thrust vectors and proved it by hitting everything with the boat. I pulled the stock decals off and proceeded to find out that for most of the marks I needed to sand them with 600 grit. Then I used 1500 on a Dual Action over the majority of the area then Meguirs 105 on it all then Meguirs 205 to end. Multiple coats of each of the meguirs. The side next to the garage is actually done. The other side just got too damn hot to work on. A few of the scratches are still visible a little but substantially less than before.

The eagle eyed will see the different colored tapes. I used these as guides for my section passes with the DA.
I failed to get too many pictures of it inbetween stages but at one point my wife came out and I could tell she was very very worried I could not finish it out

I do need a good suggestion on a sealer/wax that will hold up to the water.

Great work!!!
Of all the waxes I've tried the Klasse (All-in-one) is by far the best, long lasting in my crappy river, and also the easiest to use. I couldn't recommend it more. It is a cleaner wax, too, and it comes off the trim and plastic as easy as anything, easy on easy off, which is a huge plus in my book.

Wow, no other recommendations? I'll place an order then for the Klasse this afternoon.

I've used Turtle wax, and others as well. I won't say wax is generic, as it is not. But any wax is better than none.

All I know is be careful of the SeaDeck if you have it. Wax does not come out of that very easily. I got wax on my anchor locker cover SeaDeck and it's still there. I brush and powerwash it aggressively and it is slowly coming out.

Nice work on the wet sanding. It is very rewarding once you get to the final fine grit, and buffing compound. With wax, it should be a freakin' mirror and stuff will rinse off easy.

Good luck!

The wife and I were discussing adding SeaDeck this winter. It's on a LONG list of things I want to do.
A list that changes depending on how likely I feel we are going to be going to Bimini next year or not.

Yup the lists and priorities change with the weekend for me as well. I was all ready to order lateral thrusters this week and wake/surf racks. Then our cover shredded on the way home yesterday. GRRR. Maybe Will can throw me a package deal on a Premium cover and lateral thrusters.

SideTrack but the list in no particular order:
  • Seadeck
  • Upgraded stereo (tower/swim platform/amps...)
  • Add a second battery
  • Add a charger so i can maintain batteries during the week.
  • finish fixing bearings/noises
  • new bowstop so the boat trailers properly
  • New tires for my truck (found my vibration when towing....)
  • cobra/Thrust Vectors/etc... (cannot make up my mind).
$$$$ on fire.

I second @swatski recomendation on the klasse all in one. I used it for the first time this year and it’s very easy and holds up. I top it with collonite.
