Polk or Kicker

I wanted to get everyone's opinion on wakeboard tower speakers. I am looking at either the Polk or Kicker single barrel speakers (or other speakers in price range). Which one will give me more and better sound? I am new to wakeboard speakers and looking for speakers in the $500 range. Any suggestions. This would go on a new Yamaha AR190.

Between those two speaker brands, I would say they're both one side of the same coin. They'll do just fine with some amplification. If you want to broadcast sound behind you, you'll want to step up to Wet Sounds or JL.

JL... Buy nice or you will buy twice. Pickup a pair of M3 towers with a MX280/4 amp and rock the cove. Sometimes Creative Car Audio will do package deals on JL speaker/amp combos, give them a call and you might get close to your budget.

Kicker KM8's for the towers. You wont find a better sounding tower speaker for the price.

i got the same kicker kmtes tower enclosures in black...with kicker speakers..sound great to us
the bracket swivels a bit which helped.

Two of my 4 polks failed after minimal usage over the course of 3 years. I mean minimal. Now I am stuck looking for a single but will probably just buy a new pair of ANYTHING BUT POLK,based on crap product that failed for me. EDIT: Because another went bad. 2 of 4 kaput after 3 years and maybe 15 outings

I am thinking about buying these. Good deal for the price? I am balling on a budget since I want to tint my windows too. Don't know what amp I should pair them with as well. Not trying to win a competition, just a little more sound when swimming and stuff

Huh interesting. Never even heard of that brand. I see Boss Audio also has some good deals, I'm fairly certain they are all better than Rockville. I would like to use this kicker amp if it's powerful enough, I need someone to chime in as I'm audio illiterate
