Looks like I have found a 2016 AR240. I have been looking for months and finally found one I can swing. They are getting really hard to find. I have been scouring the Owner's Manual. Can you give me a pre-purchase inspection list? Its coming from a dealer, not a private party so I'm hoping they have some maintenance information. I'm a prop boat owner and have done all my own maintenance for years, everything from bellows to engine coupler to completely rebuilding the transom and stringers, so I'm familiar with old school boats. I'm really excited about having something much newer. Everything runs through the touch screen though. Can you even turn on lights, radio, bilge pump, blowers without the engines running? Other then checking oil, starting engines, making sure throttle cables and forward/reverse shift gates, rudder work correctly what should I be looking at and what should I expect the dealer to do? Thanks for the help.

for about $150 the dealer will do an inspection but of course they are the ones doing the selling so ill be skeptical, the guy that bought my boat paid for the inspection/ warranty transfer, i think it was about $135

Turns out this is dealer who originally sold the boat and has done the service for the PO. So that is a good thing. There should be maintenance records for me to look at. I doubt this time of year I will be able to test drive the boat, but they say we can hook the engines up and at least start them. I will report back.

@rad1026 I have a different Yamaha, but if there is an internal cooling problem it will manifest itself within 10 minutes at no-wake speed while running on the hose.

I was able to purchase a two year Yamaha warranty. The threw it in the financing. I didn't ask how much. I think its a good idea.

It's a pretty new boat, so hopefully no issues there. Were you able to do a test ride on the water? Those extended warranties may or may not be from Yamaha and may or may not cover what you think they cover. I recommend humbly you read all the terms carefully and understand how much it costs and what it really covers. Worst case you can cancel it and have it credited to the principal, or you are familiar and prepared for any exclusions it may have. Congratulations on your purchase!
