I retrieved my boat today my winch was just popping out of gear and I noticed the lock spring was gone. When I got home I got lucky and found the spring caught on the trailer tongue.

I can’t find a clear pic online of how it is supposed to go, but this is the only way that seemed to make sense. Is this what it should look like when locked and unlocked?

I also noticed what appears to be a groove in one tooth of the small gear right where the lock would engage. This is broken right? There’s not some reason they groove one? It looks like it’s cut off clean from the factory.
