ProMariner ProSport: 12Amp, Dual Bank, Marine Battery Charger

Good morning, All... any advice, watch-outs, tips on mounting this unit in the port quarter wet storage compartment?

Pictures included for reference. I appreciate your help.

Don't have your boat but i'd place them close to the batteries as possible but not in the engine bay as it is too hot there. Might want to consider installing a plug on the outside of the boat for easy plug-in. Check sig for type.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I have NOCO AC Port Plug. Regardless of where I mount the charger, I will install the port plug in the port-side wet storage compartment - opting not to put a 2” hole in the hull.

I had read that it is not optimal to install the charger in the same closed compartment as the batteries. Any reason why the charger should be less than ~4 feet from the batteries?

I don't think the cord is long enough. I had to extend mine to reach the other battery as it's on the opposite side of the boat. It all worked out just fine.

LOL, my heart was beating when drilling the large hole but was worth it as I don't have to crawl into the boat every time. I believe in keeping things as easy as possible as I won't have an excuse not to do it.

Oh I have NO problem drilling holes below the waterline! Underwater LEDs forthcoming.

For the consideration of others - my intent is to keep the NOCO adapter out-of-sight and dry... only having to run an extension cord onto the swim platform and into the port-side wet storage compartment (whether wet slipped or trailered/covered in the driveway).

I put my pro mariner in the engine bay on the port side, close to the batteries. I fish the power cord out of the holes in the compartment behind the seat backs on the swim deck. I tuck the shore power cord pigtail adapter and the charger cord behind that same seat back when ashore.

Use the full length of the battery cables installed if you need to 6-8' I think? I bought extension cables for 2 of my 3 banks on a 20a. These chargers are now built to be intrinsically safe. I still would not mount it over the batteries, gassing hydrogen while charging. ABYC guidelines prohibit it. In the battery compartment would be fine if it fits. Wet storage will work as well. I did have a problem with mine, but the company had a solution. https://jetboaters.net/threads/prom...s-3-bank-battery-charger-issues-solved.24642/
