Do yourself a favor, and take a few minutes to watch this clip. These images of plastic and trash in our oceans, footage collected by sailors as they traverse the seas, are a travesty.

Seals playing with plastic bags in the remote Southern Ocean should really make us take pause. These men and women are not out there to collect images, they are out there to race.
And yet, this is what they are seeing.

The Volvo Group's Ocean Summit on Marine Debris took place in Newport - a serious problem for marine ecosystems.

 
To this day I still clip any plastic that has rings in it like for 6-packs and such. I was taught that back in elementary school because it traps animals like dolphins and can kill them.
