Yeah, I use the heat shrink connectors, but I take it one step further. I fill the connector with dialectic grease, then insert the wire for crimping and then heat gun. The heat shrink pushes out the excess grease and keeps water from seeping in. Heat shrink can still let water in so I take this extra step.

Get these connectors! Much better than your normal butt connector crap with heatshrink, liquid tape and/or a roll of electrical tape.
Totally sealed.
