Well the rainy season has a few weeks to go so no boat fun so i decided to take a trip to North Thailand haven't been for a couple of years and thought i would post some photos etc for you guys to take a look at, So a bag packed and thrown in the back of the old Jeep loads of 50s and 60s songs on USB stick and off i went nice steady drive to North Thailand about 10 hours but a few stops inbetween.
Give the old Jeep a good clean first gas it up check fluids etc
After a few hours i stopped for a break, There are a few things that i miss from England and my friend had brought me some strong English chedder cheese so i had made some Cheese and Onion sandwiches, Great way to enjoy the start of a holiday good sandwiches and good old music, Found what seemed like a graveyard but no they were all for sale.
Ok well they were all for sale, Time to move on i have a long way to go
I stopped to get some Gas and there was a digger clearing a piece of ground, They had unloaded it from the back of this truck it's in the background, I told you before they throw nothing away in Thailand, Check out the tires back and front, I'm about 2 hours from the hotel and want to get there before dark so need to move on.
Dining room
Room was good no noise really clean hotel good food excellent staff, Couldn't fault it, $14,57 a night including breakfast i just done the conversion for you
Ohh i spoke to the housekeeper who cleaned my room everyday she's on $10 a day so i tipped her before i left she was really good.
Went up into the mountains and someone had built this lovely place in the middle of nowhere remote but great views, This would have been a westener
No Thai person would want to live here to remote, ( They get scared they like close neighbours )
While i was in the mountains found a couple of boys doing a bit of spear fishing in one of the lakes, Unlike in the west you don't have thing's like fishing
licences in Thailand just fish were you want to when you want to.
Ok yes i met someone while i was there, Well i needed a local to show me around didn't i ?
These are Rice Barges outside the Rice factory, The trucks bring the Rice to the factory from the farmers and it's loaded from the trucks into the Barges and taken down river to Bangkok to go all around the world.
Up in the mountains, I told you they throw nothing away, A few old trucks why not build a room on the back and open a resort, All airconditioned a few old Gas pumps and old English Phone box the Thais love it for a weekend break, Ok i have run out of room look out for part 2
