I drive a 2017 Ram Rebel and was wondering what everyone is running for their trailering setup. I have a 3 inch drop B&W hitch for reference. I’m new to towing and any recommendations are appreciated.

Sorry I’ll be towing the 2021 195S

Tow with a 2020 Silverado LTZ with 3.0L Duramax and stock suspension. Just use a standard ball hitch to tow our 2017 AR195 with Shoreland’r trailer.

Things I’m considering or have done:

Some sort of rock guard to protect thrown rocks from hitting the boat. I’ll do this if I move to an A/T tire for sure.

Upgraded the trailer lights to LED. I would blow a bulb almost every time I put the boat in the water. I didn’t know about unplugging the lights before launching as this is our first boat.

Getting a spare tire and carrier for the trailer.

Upgrading the trailer jack to something a bit more robust.

I haven’t felt the need for any sway bars or such.

I use a 5 pin to 7 pin converter.

*Edit: I also added 44” guides. Back up the empty trailer was kind of a pain as I couldn’t see the trailer behind me and I wasn’t very good backing up with the camera. With the guides it’s as easy as with the boat.

That’s about it for me

You’ll be good with a 3” drop hitch. I have a 4” drop with a truck that has an about a 1” lift in the back and I’m damn near level while towing my 2020 195s. LED Light upgrade is highly recommended along with some guide rails (I have VeVe guides and pads), along with CE Smith marker lights on top of the guide rails. If you’re new to towing it’ll make it much less of a headache to back up when it’s dark out. Spare tire is always a good idea as a just in case. nothing can ruin your day of boating than getting stuck on the side of the road with nothing to replace a flat.
The search option is a great tool

Thanks for the advice. Which led upgrade do you guys run and I will def get a spare tire for the trailer.

Just used heat shrink butt connectors to make the connections. Easy install and made a big difference.
