LOL - this same boat is on Columbus craigslist too!

somehow $15,000. just wouldn't work, he needs 15,004.

I understand how 14,999 would entice someone but why settle on 4 over

Yeah she hadn't had the experience of CL scams and wanted me to message.

i straight up said if there were 15k yamahas wed have one already. lol

then sent her a 2019 27ft cobalt ad, that was only 14k. she got it.

Craig's list is starting to finally charge a small fee I had to pay $5 to list my sons klx110 dirt bike sold the first day. Scammers cant afford 5$ brilliant idea

Too late, I already purchased this boat for myself. Yep, as soon as the King of Sudan gets my Western Union Money order, my boat will be delivered straight to my home.

I live in southern Wisconsin and a whole bunch of sketchy looking boat adds (mostly Yamaha) popped up on Craigslist over the past week. The one in the OP has been on there for about a month - if not longer.

Same boat in Chicago Craigslist. They sure are efficient at marketing.

Same boat on two different Virginia Craig's List sites listed at multiple locations in VA,, MD and DC.

I’ve seen that one on Chicago CL, same price same pics. I‘d say the scam level is “Nuclear”

He's selling for his cousin who needs the money delivered to a foreign bank as he can't come back to the US due to covid but rest assured the storage lot manager will let you into the lot after payment has cleared. This is a low risk transaction friend. Sorry working long shifts, please use email instead of phone. Title is in the glove compartment when you pick it up.

Craigslist has gone to hell in a hand basket. I used to use it all the time, but I just don’t even waste my time anymore with it. Really is sad. Facebook marketplace seems to have pretty taken over the private sales side of things. Not as many Nigerian Princes browsing Facebook, I guess. Yet, anyway...

I usually just respond to such ads with a proposal to buy it for the asking price as soon as I can personally Inspect the item. My only questions are when and where do I bring my tow vehicle and the money. 98 out of 100 times the response clearly reflects its a scam, “I’m a widow selling my late husbands boat”, “I’m in the Service and overseas”, “the boat is out of state out of country, you pay the shipping fees and they will be credited toward your purchase price”.

However, I still think checking out such leads is worth the effort for the 2 out of 100 times that it is not a scam and the response is “meet me at x boat ramp at y time, I prefer cash but will take a cashiers check made out to John Doe.” I purchased two pairs of jet skis and with trailers this way, got great deals on both.

100% considering the same ad/boat photo has been posted in Albany, NY for the past 90 days!
