So, I don't know who thought it was a great idea to have that rear cleat so far back. I think we are missing a cleat in the rear that is reachable from the inside. much higher up and near the fuel filler would be my current most likely location.
I'm thinking of a winter project for this.

Any thoughts? Or magic solutions beyond leaving a line attached to the rear cleat?( which is not very elegant, but does work)

I know what you mean. I started using my center one as the main one, having it set up with a line to launch and land. That sounds very reasonable.

This is a stock pic. I use the rear grab handle on the boat. You can see it here between the two tower rails. Not all boats have them though.

In my opinion, the front one is too far forward also. I’m seriously considering getting four of these little buggers, and putting two on each side where it makes sense.

Actually, I use the front grab rail also instead of the cleat. Ha!

well shucks, I’m just gonna take all the cleats off your boat, and scatter them down the sides of mine if you’re not gonna use than! ?
