rear rubber ring

I pulled my boat out of the water this past weekend.. washed it down and found that a rubber grommet on the backside has ripped and fallen off!
Its around the black exit, does anyone know what part this is? and why it would have ripped off so fast. I only have 10 hours on the boat.

If you are talking about a silicone ring that came out of the exhaust port (port with black rubber baffle with splits in it) - that is just extra silicon that squeezed out on the inside from the installation of that rubber baffle. Has happened to pretty much every new Yamaha boat owner in the first few months of use. Just rip it out and move on.
