Rec needed for torque wrench

Wondering if anyone cares to share ideas for torque wrenches? I think it would be handy for several jetboat tasks like pump re installation. Is there a need for more than 1 size, or range? I don't see myself using this that often, so probably interested in a mid range product.

The hardware store brand ones (Craftsman, Husky, Kobalt) seem decent and aren’t outrageous.

If you only want to buy one I’d get a 3/8 that goes from 5 to 80lbs. That would cover most maintenance type bolts on the boat.

I have Tekton torque wrenches. They are relatively inexpensive, and hold calibration well as long as you don't beat on them. I have a 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drive version. Litlte one goes down to like 12oz-in, and I think the big one goes up to 250ft-lbs. Will get you about 99% of the stuff you need around a jetboat or automobile. Only thing I couldn't get was the flywheel to crank bolt on a 1G RX7, spec was 750ft-lb. I guess my weight at 180lbs, and did the math for how long the breaker bar needed to be.

Honestly this isn't bad either. Torque is usually +/-15-20% in regards to relation to clamp load. Harbor Freight wrenches should be within that range easily enough.

i don’t have any testing with it but mine seems to work well. I use it a few times a year at most. Was hard to justify $100+ when I can grab it for $20
