I removed the pumps to replace my steering cables and wondering what thread locker I should use on the 4 bolts that fasten the pumps. It looks like there was red left on the threads when i removed them.

Also torque specs? I dont have my manual in front of me.

Anyone know?

Thanks

Always Blue!
(Unless you are an engine builder)

Yeah, thats was i was initially thinking until i saw the red left on the threads. They were difficult to remove and i thought heat was needed with the red stuff. Through me off.

Thanks @Liftr

I agree with you that a heat gun of some sort is required to remove Red Loctite.
I can’t fathom any externally accessible parts that NEED red loctite.

I also used the blue for this application.

Also coat the bolts with grease or wax so they do not corrode where they pass through the aluminum housings, except the threaded ends obviously . I use bees wax because water will never wash it off and the bolts won't corrode inside the aluminum passages.
