Relocating to Louisiana

After three summers enjoying the beautiful lakes of Alabama, my wife and I are relocating to southern Louisiana. We will be looking for a place somewhere between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

If anyone has any experience down there, please share!

Yep, we have a relatively new plant down there that has had its struggles. Our company has a really good relocation policy, so it makes the move pretty painless.

Also curious about boating around Baton Rogue, especially waterfront real estate on ski lakes/rivers. Any high end homes with docks within about 30 minutes of the east side?

Thanks @ROBERT MCNABB. The 200 looks like an awesome event. I just googled it and watched some vids. There are some crazy go fast boats out there.
