I like the cleaner look of the newer boats, and have seen what it looks like with just removing the graphics. I like it. I wanted to add a little more back though. I like the clean look of the moombas with a solid background and just a big moomba logo on the side. So i have photoshopped a yamaha logo on the side of a SX230. Not my boat, I didnt have a clean side picture of my boat to start with. I'm not the great of a photoshop guy. I really want to logo to be chrome. if anyone can make it look better that would be great. you get the basic idea anyways. what do you guys think?

Hmm ... Not too sure I'm a fan of it. But I see where you are going with the Moomba thing. But if you like it - go for it!

I just wanted to point out that you have the incorrect Yamaha logo. The music and motor divisions have different logos but can easily be confused. The logo for the motors division (which includes, motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, wave runners, generators, etc. etc.) has the tips of the tuning forks touching the outside circle. Whereas the music logo does not. You have the music logo in your picture. Compare it to the emblem on the side of your boat and you will see what I mean.

I like the large logo on the sides look.

The center v of the M should be flush with bottom of the rest of the letters for yamaha motors too.

Thanks for the input. This is just a rough graphic. Not exactly what I would use. I'll make sure it's right if I get it made.

I'm surprised you know this., not very many people know that. Drives me nuts when I see the wrong one being used.

I was a Sales and Finance Manager at a motorcycle dealership for 8 years.

I noticed the difference while looking for some new decals and I thought it was because they were knockoffs and not from the manufacturer. Thanks for explaining.

Would look great with a JETBOATERS.net Logo there too!!! :-)

Best way to get the stickers off?...i bought new stock ones because mine are very faded...will need to take off old ones and put new ones back on...any advice would be helpful

About to take all the graphics off mine, probably summer end though when I am bored and it's cold out.

Your mileage may vary. Mine is 10 years old. It took me a Long time to remove... A long time! probably 5 hours over 3 days to do one side. Still need to do the other. Below the rail only.

The eraser wheel for stuck on graphics is a God send

C004F2CA-9680-4C97-9C0B-362B976920A0.jpeg I kept the upper two stripes to break up the white space but removed the graphics below the rub rail and upgraded the vinyl Yamaha logo for the 3D chrome one. I have played around with adding something back to the hull as you pictured but have taken a liking to the cleaner look.

Everyone says they peel right off. Mine must be a genetic freak with super glue because it took me three hours to get one side. And I was using a hair dryer to boot. Tackling the other side this weekend before she goes back to the dock. Might see if walmart has the eraser wheel in stock.

I have a Black 2012 242. I am thinking about removing the stickers too. My question is if there is a noticeable difference in the color underneath compared to what has been in the sun the whole time?

On ours, you can read "high output" up on the bow only in the most perfect light conditions. It's very rare, and you have to look real close.

Otherwise, a good buffing, and most will never know it was there.
