So I just purchased garmin ecomap plus 74cv.

I am wondering if anyone has replaced the standard dash? It has a curve in it.

I am thinking about hooking the chartplotter into fuel lines/tank to give fuel reading. It will have transducer for depth, and gps for speedo.

I would be looking at keeping the rpms for each motor and replacing 3 small gauges in middle with my garmin unit.

What concerns would you have with it?

Also will be mounting my vhf in the leg area for easy access while driving.

My reason for thinking of this would be because there isnt much room... if any to mount a 7inch display.

Removing the tachs may cause canbus errors. Besides that sounds like a cool mod.

Going to keep the tachs in place only able to see rpm with them.

Will temp remove to install new dash.

only about the dash itself,
did you see this thread, https://jetboaters.net/threads/raymarine-es78-quantum-radome-fusion-ms-ra205-custom-dash.9523/

There was also another member who did a detail post about material and installation of the same type of replacement but I can't seem to find it right now,
I did not see that thanks!

My concern is the curve in EOM with the curve in my 06.

If I dont have to form the plastic and can use flat piece will be quick change out.

that thread is fantastic! Might have to look into this as I'd love to mount a larger GPS/Fishfinder. My tiny garmin works but who doesn't want a bigger screen.

@Zak77 my 06 sx230 dash is curved and wouldn't be able to put a flat piece in due to helm design itself is curved on the sides. I am working on something though. I'll update once I finish it with what I did.

Ah! Interesting about the curved dash. I have an 07, and from when I took my dash panel out to remove the depthfinder and mount my Garmin 44 there I thought I remembered it being somewhat flat behind it. To cold to go pull out my dash now. Looking forward to seeing what you find in much warmer GA.

The helm has a crescent shape so I have to mold plastic to fit the curve or bulld mold for local fiberglass guy to shoot me panel like I want.

The 2007 might have flat instrument panel I'm not sure

Looking at pics online, they did change the dash from 06 to 07. I used the garmin you bought on a rental boat down in the keys a few months ago. Great unit. I'm looking at going with that one, or the Raymarine ES series.

@Zak77 flat panel will be super easy to swap out. My panel is out atm working in how to adjust for plotter.

Well there is no returning...

I used starboard to cut curved pieces and a flat piece to so I can flush mount garmin in middle.

Local place wanted $600 to do what I am doing.

Almost finished. Need to order nmea2k starter kick and gfs10. The gfs10 is garmin fuel sensor. I will be able to hook into tank and get fuel left reading as well as hooking into one of the lines going to motor and get fuel consumption reading if I wish.

Vhf is installed dash will go in this weekend (need 2 more screws for bottom).20190124_183853.jpg

I might cut a thin piece of starboard so I can hide all the screws on front.
