Hoping the experience in this forum can shed some light on my issue. I have a 2013 Yamaha 242 limited s and was enjoying a day on the water. She was purring along nicely and we stoped halfway to our destination to enjoy the sunset. Once everyone was back in their seats, I hit the throttles but the boat acted and sounded funny. I put both controls in neutral and just accelerated the port side engine and it was fine. I put back in neutral and gassed the starboard side and it wanted to go in reverse. After messing with it a while, I decided to limp back on just the port engine. Once at the lift, I saw that my reverse gate was covering the nozzle on the starboard side, but in correct nuetral on the port side. The bucket moved easily up and down when lifting by hand, but does not respond to the throttle control. I’m assuming the cable is broken and will need replacing. When I look at the Yamaha diagram it lists two cables, a reverse cable and throttle cable. I am hoping someone can steer me in the right direction as to which cable to purchase or if I’ll infect need both. I was thinking of buying the parts and taking to my Yamaha mechanic. Hoping the repair bill won’t kill me so we can get back on the water before the season is gone. Thanks in advance!!!
