I consider myself a very junior shade tree mechanic and have collected various tools through the years. Yesterday my son was helping me in the garage and asked me what some of the tools I had were for. Here are a few that I had trouble with identifying just by looking at them. i am still not sure what the plier like ones are for but have an idea.

What say you, what are these tools used for?

Gasoline filter disconnection tool on the right.
Air Conditioning disconnection tool on the left.
Pliers are used to pull the clamps off rubber hoses.

We have the same 2000 Ford Expedition so we probably have similar tools.

Damn @buckbuck , you got the first tools (the plastic ones) right on the first try. Your response on The plier like tools is not correct though. I remember what they are for now it has nothing to do with passenger vehicles.

Well that's what I would use them for.:)

Got it at a hobby store, it is called a "Z Bender or Former" I think. Used to shape the ends of control rods so that they fit correctly into the arms of servos used in remote controlled helicopters, planes, boats, etc. this is one of those tools that I used very few times the only one that got less use is the impeller removal tool I bought to replace my Mercury sport jet impeller, a $60 1 13/16" deep socket that i used exactly one time. Maybe I can get more out of the z bender now that I know an alternative use for it, thanks.

Pliers for barb wire?
