I want to take a second and give a loud shoutout to @Ridesteady. The product is awesome in itself, but the accompanying service is second to none. I had a failure a couple of days ago, and Justin at Ridesteady responded to my inquiry immediately. He was very knowledgeable and together we diagnosed the problem to a failed node. I was sending pictures and info through midnight and he was responding immediately. A new part was overnighted no questions asked. A plug and play part swap later and I'm back up and running. I can't say enough about the service. Part failures happen, especially on a boat. It's obviously not ideal, but when a company stands by their product and provides service like I've received, you can't ask for anything more than that. So if you've got a Yamaha, buy the Ridesteady and feel confident that if you ever need help, they'll be right there. Great job @Ridesteady, I truly appreciate it.

That sounds a little different than the service we hear about at Perfect Pass. I keep dreading the inevitable screen failure with my Perfect Pass because I know they won't do anything but sell you a replacement.

I have not had any issues with the RS, yet, but have been very impressed with Justin's handling of the VHF interference issues on early models, over-nighting replacement parts etc.

I can not imagine going without it though, I use it literally all the time now. Except for docking, lol.

Wish it was compatible with my 06 SX230HO. ☹

And my 2008 212X:(

Man, how did I miss this thread?? You even tagged Ridesteady...

Thanks for the kind words, @Scottie ! It’s my honor to be part of a great group of boat enthusiasts. The referrals and shout outs make all the difference to us. I can’t thank you enough!!!

I actually only got to use my ridesteady twice before I traded in my Yamaha for a forward drive regal, but I was amazed at the ease of install, great customer service and it worked better than I thought it could. I was very impressed. Only wish I could put it on the new boat.

congrats guys! you seem to be professionals here so I'm happy I'm among you as I've just registered. i feel as if there's a lot for me to learn! Scottie, Ridesteady, can I ask you questions if I would have some? of course, if you don't mind! thanks!

Absolutely

@Ridesteady Love the ridesteady. Have used it a bunch for wakeboarding and our new attempts at surfing. My wife loves it even more and pulling me is much less stressful for her. I haven't really dug into all the settings other than a curious scroll through the menus - haven't tried adjusting deep settings yet. My question is, is there any control over acceleration? In other words the ability to set a acceleration curve and then you just hammer the throttles and it takes you up to speed nice and smooth at a predefined rate. I haven't seen anything like that in the documentation or in the settings but thought I'd ask just in case I'm missing something.

Making life better on the water for everyone is our goal, and I'm happy to hear it's working well for you! Thanks for sharing @ttzz !

Regarding acceleration curves, no we do not have that functionality. It is up to the driver to bring the rider up to close to the set speed, and Ridesteady takes over from there.

To that point, I wished there was a curve as well before I installed it. After install its such a minor thing that I don't know how it would help. After all you do have to watch the rider, especially my kids at least. Once they get out of the water I already have the speed up and its just effortless.

Yeah I have no problem with that feature missing and like you I personally would likely rarely use it as I like to have control over the acceleration to vary it as I see what is happening with the rider while they are coming up. The only reason I was interested is for guest drivers or even currently my wife, I find the "touchy" Yamaha throttles to be learning curve for drivers not used to it. Outside of that it would also check off another "cool feature" check box. :)

That^^^^!

Wife driving... well, that's a different story. I think my wife, Kate, would be more dangerous behind a ramp/curve, lol, somehow.

Ridesteady is incredible! Best purchase I have made for any of my boats! So far going on season 2 with zero issues!
