Hi I'm looking for option to protect my boat from rock ship while traveling on my trailer I'm looking at the rockguard product look to be good
I would like to know what people are using? Thank

The popular choice that we have seen discussed here is the broom bristle type mounted behind the tow vehicle tires. Not sure of manufacturers name.

I use a set up from Magnum Mudflaps. IMG_0791.JPGThey work pretty well, just clamps around my ball mount. I was able to pick them up at a local store, but you can get them online at magnummudflaps.com

FYI if your exhaust comes out the back or close you may have issues. My old neighbor had one of theses and got a new Chevy 2500 with the 6.0 and he melted his. He had to get his exhaust bent more, similar to the normal half tons.

I use a brand called Rock Tammers. They're a true mud flap like what's on 18 wheelers. They mount to the drawbar of the receiver hitch like the other ones, but they cannot be removed until you remove the hitch out of the receiver. There's been probably 5 attempts of people trying to steal them off the truck in the 7 years I've had them. I know that because there are set bolts that hold the unit tight to the drawbar are loose when I go to hitch up and the unit wobbles and hits the bumper of the truck.

I'm looking to something will protect rock from my truck and other traffic alberta is bad for rock ship

Rock Tamer flap set up. Buy them at your RV dealers, Peavy Mart, Princess Auto maybe. I bought mine on sale at Peavy MArt back in 2013 when I bought our holiday trailer.. RT has adjustable width and height control. I wil be using mine to pull our "New to us" boat we recently purchased in April.

I have another flap setup I made with heavy truck rubber mudflaps using square tubing. Kind of like the Rock Tamer setup. I built mine back in 2003. Was removable but I ended up welding it to the hitch. HAs 2" ball. Use it for my utility and sled trailers for back country Alberta gravel roads.
