Rookie Boat - 1st Sx190 ride issue

Rookie Boater - Took my 2015 SX190 out for the first ride after purchasing. We did a test run with it before purchasing and everything was fine. When I took it out I got a lot of RPM but no acceleration. Am I forgetting something basic I need to do?

Don't feel too bad as this is my 3rd season and did the same thing my first trip out for the season.

Be very cautious doing this because it can swamp your boat very easily and flood the engines.
