If you didn't need the paddle :) At 6'5 and 250lb's I'm seriously considering this option also, argh.
 
I was almost completely out of fuel and had a couple of adults and some kids so not much in the way of weight. I was able to go about 40/50 yards before losing the wave. It was fun while it lasted. If I had my normal guy crew in there that I do on wake nights, I probably could have done it for extended periods. Perfect pass and ballast coming next year anyway.
 
I actually saw a video of someone surfing on a SUP the other day.

The hard part looks like it is getting out past the breakers. I would think that once you are up it is essentially the same as surfing a long board.
