Hello,

I have a 2015 AR 190 and adding a Garmin. Question; are there power connectors inside the helm console? Is a simple Y-cable all that’s needed? If not what is best practice to route from behind the stereo? Is there a means to route power from one console to the other? This is how the previous owner left the area behind the stereo when he added speakers.

I used the power that used to feed the OE depth gauge seeing it was inoperable.

are you going to want to add any other mods in the helm area? If so, it may make sense to install a new fuse box in that area and run power directly there from your battery switch. This is what I ended up doing. Cleaner install I think and I dislike inline fuses because you always seem to forget one; this way its in one place.

If you're not adding anything else, and you have a 12v cigarette lighter style plug, you can tap into that line to run the Garmin. I did it for my Axiom plotter as it only draws 10watts max (1amp) and the circuit is usually a 5-10amp line.
