rusted hose clamps

Hi Im thinking about replacing those 4 hose clamps. thinking of using screw tightened hose clamps stainless steel I would like to just move those existing rusty clamps up on hose or brake them and install new ones (open and close the clamp around hose and tide it down) so i don't need to remove hoses from this plastic splitter

I wouldn't be thinking about it if I were you, I'd be DOING it. Remove them completely, why leave rusty crap in your engine compartment, since you have to deal with them anyway. I've come to like T-bolt hose clamps, they seem to be a bit nicer to the hoses they're securing, although they're not as easy to source. Amazon is your friend for those, and I'd look for an assortment kit, unless you just want to replace those - my guess is that you'll have more to replace, which is why I suggest the assortment.

A good linesman pliers should be able to break those rusty clamps free, and no matter what you go with, get stainless. It appears you have a case study in how water works on steel.

The worse and more rusted they are, the more painful it is to do, except if they just crumble away.

Be ready for a fight.

Just back them up with good cable tiers and add cable ties next to ALL your hose clamps as a backup , simple and effective.

Cut that crap out and start fresh, hoses and all.

New stainless steel T-bolt hose clamps installed Just waiting for one more smaller clamp for red hose (this hose had 2 clamps on it for some reason )

Glad you discovered that before it became an issue.

While you are at it, did you check your exhaust/waterbox hose clamps? I can’t recall if those are either 4 inch or 6 inch clamps.
