Just saw this very sad story about one of the best lakes around here. We were supposed to be camping there in September, but our usual spot is closed due to flooding risk from the monsoon storms and the burn scar from the Bush fire. Unfortunately, these people either weren't aware or didn't realize how dangerous it could be.
This follows a massive mudslide at Roosevelt a few weeks ago that also flowed right through a wash that's also good for camping, luckily it was empty at the time.

If you're in AZ and out in a storm be careful, every lake on the Salt River chain has the shoreline adjacent to the fire closed. Probably going to be a ton of debris in the water now too.
