Sad tubing accident

Sad.
I just read the title earlier today and thought it was a tubing down the river kind of accident, then when I read the article I figured it out.

I dont understand how they can't find someone who's wearing a lifejacket????

Seems odd to me as well, more specifics may help to understand.
It's sad but the more we know about these accidents , could help prevent them .

The only thing I can guess is he was wearing it undone?

Also note that he collided with another tuber...makes me wonder if they had 2 tubes going at once and they crashed together...banging heads. This happened to me once as a kid...hurt like hell and I was lucky I wasn't knocked out. Which is why I don't run two tubes at once.

Perhaps it was a comp vest and not a life jacket. I have read different story were a pro wakeboarder was recovered from the bottom of a lake with his comp vest still attached. Moral of what I am trying to say is ignor all of those cool looking comp vests and only use properly sized USCG approved type 3 or better jackets.

Regradless of what caused this is it certainly is sad.

They found his body. No further details... RIP.
