Hi, I have just bought a 2016 scarab 165 ID and i am having trouble putting on the cover, it only came with 2 exandable poles but I do not know where to put these could someone send me a picture of what the poles are supposed to look like?
Thanks,
Jonah

Note that I replaced some of my straps with bungies. But same idea.

Thank you very much Luc,
I was confused because my boat didint come with the straps. I will have to make those myself like you did.
Thanks,
Jonah

No problem. Ah I see! lol Missing straps! I highly recommend adjusting heavy duty bungies like this. Makes installing it faster since you don't have to constantly adjust the lenghts. But you do need to spend some time initially adjusting the knots.

Also, since you're a new 165 owner, welcome aboard! If you have any questions at all, feel free to post on the forum but also, feel free to send me a personal message as well. More than happy to try and help out on anything.

Yes, thanks for the quick responses. I definitely will be making the bungees, and will reach out to you If I have any more questions, have a great rest of your day.

I actually found these bungees in my garage and they did the job perfectly cover fits now, definitely suggest this. I exchanged the middle one for a normal rope, held better. I just pollished it and it is ready to go on the water exited to ride it for the first time. Also one more question I know about outboards but have never worked with a rotary engine, other than sparkplugs air filter and oil change, with filter, is there anything specific to rotax? what about a timing belt or a water impeller for the cooling system that we have on outboards. I have the super charged 250.

Excellent!

Air filter doesn't need to be changed.

But you do need to replace the spark plugs every season, same wit oil and oil filter (and O rings).

Coolant (antifreeze) needs to be replaced every two years.

You should also inspect the pump, remove the nose cone, replace the two O rings and grease. I like to look every year, but I'd recommend every two years.

Otherwise, keep an eye on all clamps every season.

Superchargers need to be rebuilt every 200 hours.

That's about it. I have many documents that are worth going through when you're bored. See the link below.
