My 2022 Scarab 255 ID has finally been delivered yesterday. I purchased it at the Milwaukee boat show this winter and patiently waited to take possession. Of course the Chicago area weather doesn’t really want to cooperate but I’ll get out Sunday with it.
Thanks to this forum for all the research leading up to my purchase, then all the ideas and tips for this boat. Glove box idea, Destin trip next June, Rejex , maintenance, a ton of great info.
I’m am an experienced boater, but brand new to the jet boat world, looking forward to it.

Oh c'mon...up here in Canaduh we've been in the water already...rivers and bays opened weeks ago. You southern folks are just too used to the warmth of the sun.
:D

Congrats!
If the wind is reasonable, we expect to be out again Sat/Sun. Northern summers are too short to sit at home when it hits the 50's.
:winkingthumbsup"

I boated in Southern Wisconsin for decades.....I feel I'm allowed to heckle them.....I paid my dues - then I moved South! :winkingthumbsup"

I’m so antsy to get out right now it could be 40 and I’d still go. Forecast went from 68 to 58 Sunday in 1 week. ?

We are supposedly in the beginnings of a grand solar minimum. It could last a few years, or up to about 30 years, depending on the general mood of the sun. If true, we can expect much shorter summers for the foreseeable future.

Don't worry about mister doom and gloom, solar cycles are 11 years, almost like clockwork. We're coming out of a minimum, and based on early preliminary data it should be a normal to above-normal cycle. No ice age is coming.
:)

WHAT? It was 68 and you're still on land?
:)
Last weekend it was about 60f, this weekend it's 61f or better. We were out today...cool breeze due to the water being a lowly 54f and the wind was picking up the low temp from the water. But since it's not Florida, we take what we can get.

I didn’t have my boat last weekend unfortunately, was just delivered Wednesday, or I would have definitely been out.

Actually we are at the very beginning of the grand minimum. The 11 year cycle is reoccurring, but the grand minimum is a separate event which overlaps the cycles about every 300 years. The very beginning of this minimum started in 2020, and will happen again in the 2400’s.

I won't get into my opinion on that nor why, but I will say I don't believe half of what gets reported and blown out of proportion these days.
Take a lot of these reports with a large grain of salt.
